Default Father trying to learn more

Hello,

This is the first time i've ever really used the internet for this purpose. My son is 17 years old and he was just diagnosed with crohns disease. My son loves sports and music. Since being diagnosed just about four months ago or so, he lacks the desire to go and do the things he loves. We used to go to to the gym and play basketball together and he used to write his own music and come downstairs and play it for me and his mother. Does anyone have any advice on how to help him get his desire back. If he doesn't want to play basketball anymore or play his guitar anymore, I understand. But I don't want him to make that decision because of a disease

well when before i was dx i didn't want to do anything except for sleep. But i play volleyball and always have and it is a lifelong dream of mine. If sports and music really inspire him, he will go back to it. I couldn't play volleyball for a season and i was really bummed, but i was still in the chorus because i like to sing [not as well as i want to but hey, can't have everything right? haha]. In his heart i'm sure he knows that he can't live without sports and his music. it will come back to him, but just incourage him and let him know that crohn's disease is a motivator, not something that should hold you back from your passions!=]
